Public evening report

Amazing South American music introduced us to the public evening! Jeronimo, president of EUforIA explained that EUforIA acts as a “weapon of mass construction” and Alessia, Co-president of Elays hopes that in the following days many seeds will grow to “flowers”, a metaphor for projects that are going to be developed. Olivia, president of Ashoka Brazil, explained us that a social entrepreneur challenge the system, has new ideas and change things to make a better life. He/she is a visionary who creates a new pattern of how society works.

Now the young social entrepreneurs introduced their projects and explained how they became active in their country.

Lucas and Alex from São Paulo are “climate change fighters”. They’re concerned about sustainability so they told people how to recycle and to save energy and water in their daily life. Poor neighbourhood benefits from a healthy environment and has an economical benefit through recycling.

Jenny and Maru from Argentina want to narrow the social gap in their country through. They give students another way of seeing social reality and encourage them to get involved in local action. And they also work in community centers where young people get help with their homework and get health advice.

Juan Carlos and Mary from Mexico support rural families with organic production. The families learn to become independent and to improve their production capacity with simple methods such as using bunny poo as fertilizer. This way they get a higher income.

After getting so many inputs it was high time for brainstorming in the world café…

… where many innovative ideas were discussed
